I am a senior executive with extensive experience in multiple business sectors: medical device, connected health, information technology, manufacturing, food & beverage, higher education, financial services and packaged goods.
Most recently, as the acting CIO & COO for Smart Meter, I provided the strategic and tactical leadership to take a new connected health embedded IoT medical device from FDA regulatory approval to mass production, and from pre-market to a $10M run rate. While wearing many hats in a fast-paced start-up environment, my breadth of responsibilities encompassed the complete product development life-cycle; managing an electrical design and engineering team in North Carolina, a mechanical design and engineering team in Hong Kong, an embedded software engineering team in Pakistan, and a back-end cloud development team in Florida. In addition to my IT and engineering focus, I provided supply chain leadership for manufacturing operations and mass production; in that role I researched, vetted, sourced, tested, constructed, managed and optimized a supply chain that today spans Singapore, Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Taichung City and Cleveland.
In my career, leadership roles have included the interim CEO for Tampa Bay Co-Pack providing a wide range of contract beverage manufacturing services, including blending, processing, bottling, packing, warehousing, fulfillment, and distribution. I took this company from an environment of chaos to a path towards profitability and success in less than 10 months. Prior to this, I was the senior executive for a $250 million unit of Kaplan University, a division of the Washington Post Companies. In that position, I produced 70% revenue growth in less than two years.
I began my career with Procter & Gamble and have enjoyed success in other Fortune 100 companies including Fidelity Investments, Countrywide Financial Services, and Harte-Hanks Direct Marketing. Beyond the walls of global corporations, I have led two entrepreneurial ventures, one of which was instrumental in the growth of the largest business-to-business telemarketing company in the US.
